This weekend we went to the Hi-Time Chili Cookoff. It was a lot of fun. There were so many chili vendors that I was full way before I could try them all, and between the chili and the beer, I didn’t get the chance to take many photos so here’s just a few. I especially love the one of my beautiful friend, Ruth.

Vesna’s going away party

Another weekend, and another going away party. This time Vesna is leaving us for the greener pastures of Maryland. Congratulations, Vesna on graduating and finding a new job. We’ll miss you!!
Stone Brewery: Beer pairings: For the Love of Pork

This past Tuesday Drew and I along with Todd and Ruth went down to Stone Brewery for one of their beer pairing events. This time it was Beer and Pork. Since both are tasty on their own, together we figured they would be amazing! And we weren’t disappointed :) We started off with the appetizer of charcuterie, which was all made in-house. So good!
This was perhaps my favorite dish: Pork Cheek salad with bleu cheese, figs, and honey. The pork was super tender and the cheese went so well with the pork! I can’t remember the beer pairing, but it was tasty as well :)
the braised pork belly was a close second, it was melt-in-your-mouth good.
rice pudding dessert had truffles….the fungus kind. yeah. they were good.
Thanks todd and ruth for coming with us and Ruth especially for driving! We should do it again!
