restaurant review: cucina enoteca
December 19, 2011 § 1 Comment
Last weekend, we checked out a new Italian restaurant that opened at the Irvine Spectrum. It’s called Cucina Enoteca and is part of the same family of restaurants as Cucina Urbana in San Diego. I’ve been meaning to try Urbana in San Diego, but we’ve just never gotten around to it so how fortuitous that they opened Enoteca just down the street from us! I would highly recommend reservations as it’s right across from the movie theater at the Spectrum and thus get lots of theater goers before and after movies.
Overall we had a really yummy meal. Our pear and gorgonzola pizza had a nice crust, not burnt and not soggy. Our pasta dish had just the right amount of sauce with a nice spicy kick. Sorry I don’t have pics of the main dishes, we were so hungry, I couldn’t wait to take a pic first :p It was opening weekend so they definitely had some service kinks to work out as our server seemed quite overwhelmed. We had a reservation for 8:15, but weren’t seated until 8:40. We didn’t get any water for 10 minutes and didn’t get our order taken until close to 9. Still, I think we’ll be back as we really did enjoy the food and they have some good happy hour specials from 3-6pm.
