Tartine’s frangipane tart

When Drew and I were on our honeymoon in San Francisco, our last stop before we left the city was at Tartine Bakery. I had read good things online when I was researching where to eat in such a foodie town so I had high expectations. I can honestly say that Tartine exceeded everything I could have expected. We ordered the morning bun, a slice of quiche, a couple of coffees, and a mini frangipane tart. While all of it was divine, the tart was the best of all. It was moist, sweet, buttery, flaky, and although rich, I still felt like I could eat a whole one by myself. After we came back home, I was on a quest to make it and was so excited when I saw that the people behind Tartine had written a cookbook and it had the tart recipe! This is the 2nd recipe I’ve made from the book and like the lemon bars, I think I can call this one a success :)
