China Trip: Part I

I’ve divided up my photos from this trip into multiple posts. This first one is just an intro. I flew from Los Angeles into Beijing Capital International Airport on September 29th. We landed at 5am. I had a 3 hour wait before my connection to Hong Kong so I got some breakfast. It was 80 yuan for some wontons and a cup of tea (approximately $12). Although the price was ridiculous, it was exactly what I needed after 12 hours on a plane and the most terrible plane food I have ever seen.
After landing in Hong Kong, I met up with Janice by her work and after a quick lunch, I went exploring around Central (the financial district) and Soho. I don’t have many photos of this day as I was too busy trying to find my way around and otherwise shopping but I love being in hong kong. I think it is because Hong Kong is a combination of it’s Chinese history and British occupation so while it’s still chinese in many ways, it has a distinct international feel. This is perhaps much like who I am.
